Start your Hokkaido journey in Hakodate, a city known for its unique blend of Japanese and Western influences. Begin at the vibrant morning market, where you can enjoy fresh seafood like uni (sea urchin) and crab. Visit Fort Goryokaku, Japan's first Western-style star-shaped fortress, and ascend its observatory for panoramic views. As evening approaches, head to Mount Hakodate for the breathtaking night view, often regarded as one of Japan's top three cityscapes.

Take a scenic train ride from Hakodate to Lake Toya. Ride the Usuzan Ropeway for spectacular views of the lake and Showa Shinzan, a volcano that emerged in the 20th century. DAY 7: SAPPORO TO FURANO

DAY 10: ASAHIDAKE ONSEN TO ASAHIKAWA

Travel to Asahikawa, Hokkaido’s second-largest city. Visit Asahiyama Zoo, renowned for its engaging animal enclosures, including the famous penguin walk. Don’t miss the city’s specialty: Asahikawa ramen, a soy sauce-based delight. Stay overnight in the city.
DAY 11: ASAHIKAWA TO SOUNKYO ONSEN

DAY 12-13: SHIRETOKO NATIONAL PARK
